Mickie Wadsworth

I am a multifaceted musician based out of Rensselaer, New York. I began playing piano in second grade and have loved music all my life. I received my Bachelors in Music Composition from SUNY Fredonia, and I obtained both of my Masters degrees from Ohio University in Composition and Conducting, where I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the collegiate level for 3 years. My favorite part about music is collaborating with others!
Exploring music at any age is a wonderful opportunity and a fun adventure. My lessons allow for lots of exploration through curiosity and creativity while creating a solid foundation. I also enjoy preparing students for auditions, as I have experience with acting, classical voice, and opera.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
As a teacher, I believe learning is not a linear progression, and there will be frustrating days and amazing days for students. The most rewarding part for me is helping students through the valleys so they can celebrate on the hills!

Outside of music, I love hiking and hangin’ with my cat Norma :)
